How Do You Feel About Edward Snowden? Traitor Or Patriot?

I am reading his book 'Permanent Record' and he is an intelligent guy who truly believed he was doing the right thing when he turned over all of the government documents he was able to obtain to a media source so they could report them.
He felt that the US government shouldn't be able to access anything they wanted to on every single citizen and that they were doing this without the knowledge and permission from the people.
Or do you think that what the government was doing (and continues to do) is a necessary evil? Or did the government use 911 to justify doing more than they need to?

But he did what many more should do. And will one day, I dont think the united states will be around in 100 years.

Why would they? They hate the government and want it to have as little power or control as possible. What Snowden did reduced the power and control of government

Because, like it or not, what is legal and illegal is subjective to the whims of who holds power. Is being a Jew wrong? Is being gay wrong? Is ingesting a plant wrong? Are the people in Hong Kong who are just trying to maintain the freedoms their constitution grants them wrong?
