How do you apply for new jobs while currently employed?

I started applying to jobs about a month ago, as I’m ready to move on to something new. However, I obviously can’t let my current position know that I’m looking around.
So far, I’ve had three hour-long phone interviews, and each time I’ve had to have a “doctor’s appointment”, “electrician visit”, etc. so I can leave the office to take them. if any of these turn into in-person interviews I’ll have to take sick leave or vacation days.
I don’t know how many more times I’m going to be able to leave the office for these phone screenings before it becomes an issue...is there a more clever way to approach this that I haven’t thought of yet?

I took phone calls on my lunch break. Or just closed the door to my office. Are you micromanaged right now...?

most times i have been able to do interviews during lunch time or take an early or late lunch.

No office, I work at a large company and only directors and up have offices with doors. I’m in a vast field of cubicles.

Schedule the initial phone interviews during your lunch.

What’s your work location like?

You could do like a former co-worker of mine did...before lunch he went in the bathroom and put on a suit, went to an interview at lunch. Then came back to the office and changed back into his work clothes.
It was pretty comical.
