It has to be something more painful than stoning or hanging and has to be on tv, Youtube and all other media.
The perpetrators have to have fear instilled in them. Don't like what you saw; don't do the crime.

What exactly would that do? I'm genuinely asking. If a crazy person wants a gun, he'll get a gun. Writing a law on a piece of paper isn't going to change that

It could have, we’ll never know though. There have been multiple shootings where the suspects have had a history of mental illness. Any of these measurements could have deterred them, or at least raised more red flags where the police could have intervened before something happened.
Again, we will never know because the NRA is too busy lobbying against any sort of legislation.

The last major event with a legit mental illness was the stabbing in Charlotte.
I don't know if any of the major ones had anything worse than BPD. Do you think that BPD should disqualify a person from exercising a fundamental right? Can we revoke their voting ability, too?
