Have significant other kiss it and suck the toes of the ailing foot!

Go to Perkins Rowe and find a 16 year old girl to massage it for you.

OK. Thank you.
Do you think that is a good enough excuse not to stand at my desk tomorrow? Or would they think I am a wimp?

Did u step on something? Or did it just start hurting? Stay off is bout all u can do. Lil mobility won't hurt either just to keep it from getting stiff, if it's THAT bad

Punch yourself in the balls until you are no longer feeling the pain in your foot.

I bruised my heel when I was about 8 and remember crawling because it hurt so bad. Sorry.

That's why I asked. U may have strained some tendons and the inflammation feels like a bruise. Does that sound right?
In relation to "the pad", is the pain on the arch side or the toes side?

Yep, I thought mine was a bruise too. Turned out to be a long drawn out fight with:
Plantar fasciitis (say "PLAN-ter fash-ee-EYE-tus") is the most common cause of heel pain. The plantar fascia is the flat band of tissue (ligament) that connects your heel bone to your toes. It supports the arch of your foot. If you strain your plantar fascia, it gets weak, swollen, and irritated (inflamed).

Freeze a water bottle. And use it to massage it. Easiest/best way. I also like using a lacrosse ball or even a golf ball once the inflammation goes down. The bigger/softer the ball, the less aggressive. Work up to something smaller/harder like a golf ball. Massage the whole length of it, from pad to heel. A few times a day in the beginning, but based on what it feels like in the morning. If you worked on it the day before and it's sore in the morn, back off a little or decrease the intensity. In other words just be smart about it
Now that takes care of the effect, not the cause. You need to figure out why it's happening & correct it
