But, he’s 9- let him have one. Or make him do chores, etc. to earn the money.
I think they look dumb as well, but maybe getting “swagged up” is what motivates him.

I think they are pretty goofy too. I played baseball until I was 18 and don't really remember finger injuries from sliding being a big problem.

They should be outlawed. So should all the other pieces of armor batters are wearing these days.
