Is he required to stay in New Orleans or something?

So how does that work? They go to school for half the year in New Orleans and then the other half in San Diego?
Yes... a kid in my grade did exactly that in elementary school while his dad was still playing.

I’m not a New Orleans basher either, but San Diego is one of the best cities in the US.

But it’s in California “the left coast”. Isn’t that too liberal for you?

The last time Brees and I caught up, we were talking about Covid and how it’s impacting our kids schooling but we didn’t talk about the logistics of his kids schooling. I’d imagine they have a system in place to go to school half the year in NOLA and after Xmas break they relocate to San Diego and finish out the school year there

He bought a penthouse in the new 4 seasons. Hotel, not landscape company

They attend Newman for 6 months and live in San Diego for 6 months

Not NO bashing but SD is a beautiful city and no-brainer decision obviously.
Yet they couldn’t hold on to a NFL franchise.

I mean, if that’s your standard for living, you do you.

NO isn’t a great place to raise kids. Even if you are rich as shite. I don’t blame him

Buddy’s girlfriend who works for AECOM took them on the tour at the beginning of the year. Said that it was more Brittney wanting it than Drew. The conversation between the two had some awkward silences. “I guess high net worth doesn’t change marriage dynamics.” is I believe how she put it.
He doesn’t even have the biggest unit. My guess; he retires, sells the NOLA mansion, and uses this when he comes in from SD for his businesses and charitable organizations. Then it’s back on the plane.

You know a state has ridiculous state income taxes when Louisiana is a "good deal" by comparison.
Southern California is gorgeous but you have to pay through the nose to make it your principal residence.

opened quite a few Jimmy John's locations in NO metro area, become a part owner in Walk-On's, and is about to open a bunch of Dunkin Donuts locations in LA
I’d imagine 99.99% of that can be handled by afar. It’s not like he’s a day to day operator

Two years tops, he'll be living in San Diego permanently.
I know LA income tax can be a beast, but how does LA income tax stack up against CA income tax especially at the 1 million dollar level.
