We had an outside cat, she was a stray and took up residence outside our home, and a farmer wanted her for his shop to keep the mice down.
So we took her out there, around 10 away across hwy 65 and out in the boondocks. Sent food for her as well.
She showed back up about a week later.
How come dumb ole cats can do that but we can’t?

Easy answer- they don't. It's a bullshite clickbait article for dumb Kevin's like yourself.
If you have some kind of proof that this phenomenon isn't real, please do share.
If not, then I'm not sure why you are so angry about this.
If you have some reasonable thoughts on the matter, then I'd love to hear them.

My indoor cat went missing for a week. We thought he was long gone but then he showed up out of nowhere at 5am meowing at the front door

No young kids. But she had raised a litter here and those cats were gone. Maybe that drove her back.
We weren’t attached to her like a pet and actually she didn’t really come around us unless we were putting food out for her.

Thank you for the response
Since I spend most of my time if not all my time with Sophie now that I've had the stroke i've really learned a lot about cats. Would notice stuff about her and then do research
there is a bond with pets Dogs. cats. birds. Everything every living thing has the need to belong just something else. Our pets think of us as the pack. Even solitary animals have their family/tribe And the way cats protect and how jungle cats instinct are used
I don't think cats are ever completely trained not to attack and kill

My dad told us a story about a cat they had in West Monroe as a kid. They gave it to his uncle down by the old Jones homestead in Caldwell Parish. A week later, the cat shows back up at their house. 50+ mile journey.

How do you explain the cat that traveled 200 miles back to the location of it's owners? It was micro chipped. It seems like this clearly is something that happens.
