If you make it through the first seven days it gets much easier

I had to start dipping. I tried to quit smoking several times, never being successful. I started dipping and found it much easier to ween off of that for whatever reason. And, oddly enough, even though it was much easier to quit, I still crave skoal from time to time, whereas you’d have to pay me to smoke a cigarette.

I read Allen Carr's "Easy Way To Quit Smoking" 8 years ago and like millions of others I quit and haven't smoked since. Buy it, read it, and stop smoking.

Quit cigs and started dipping heavy again. Quit dipping and did not nicotine for a good 8-9 months before picking up a gas station vape. Now I have a pretty small vape that I refill. I know it’s not cool but I’ll never believe that it’s worse than inhaling burnt tobacco and paper or putting tobacco directly on my teeth and gums.
Also, I don’t smell like shite or have gum decay, so that’s a plus.

My wife got a positive pregnancy test. I smoked what I had and didn't buy any more. My plan was cold turkey. But my wife thought I needed support and went and bought some nicotine gum. So I chewed that for a while, but I switched over to lozenges. I still use them today. That was almost 8 years ago. I have one in my mouth right now. Nicotine is a hell of a drug.

I quit by using Zyn. Now I’m addicted to Zyn, but I don’t smell like smoke, nothing in it is carcinogenic, and I’ve yet to snap and kill someone going through nicotine withdrawals.

I watched my MIL sure if cancer and her children having to take care of her. Cold turkey quit both dipping and smoking.

An arse kicking from my dad when I was 16 made me quit smoking

Read the Allen Carr book. Gum and patches are just more nicotine. While they are helping you quit smoking, they are not helping you quit Nicotine.

I had a major medical event and had to quit cold turkey. I couldn’t use any products with nicotine because nicotine is a vasoconstrictor. My doctor gave me Buspar and Xanax for anxiety which helped a lot. The first three months were hell and after about 6 months, it got a lot easier. I still miss it but I’m so glad I don’t smoke anymore. I will be 8 years smoke free this May!

Tried quitting for years. Read a book called The Easy Way to Quit Smoking, and it really helped. I had also decided it was time. I’ve had a few since then, but never had the urge to pick it back up.

When I decided to become a professional body builder I knew I had to quit

Nailed it.
I quit drinking coffee for a couple of months along with sweet tea and soft drinks. I’ll never forget the day I decided to start back with coffee. I made it as normal and by the time I got a quarter cup in, my head felt like it was going to explode and my hands started shaking. To this day, I can’t have much caffeine. Haven’t had a Coke in almost 20 years now.
Didn’t have the same problem with beer.

Never smoked cigarettes. Smoked dope for many years, I just stopped. Grew tired of worrying/beating drug test.
Will resume one day.

Smoked for15 years. Pack a day habit for about 10 of those years. Quit cold turkey. Took about a year for the cravings to stop. Absolutely hate the smell now
