My brother in law told me he grew up in breaux bridge without ac and said that’s all they knew and sat on the front porch. I just can’t fathom that.

Walking outside today is like being wrapped in a hot and wet towel.

Houses had lots of ventilation, and people weren't so pussified.

Yep, and houses and buildings were built to move more air through them.

They were definitely still pretty miserable on really hot days, but they didn't know what an AC cooled house felt like.

thats really not it. The humban body adapts very well. if you were to suffer few days without AC you would become accustom to it

Humans can adapt to their environment.

People are sitting in offices all day with the AC on 72 degrees, then go outside and can't handle it.

Rare to find in modern homes, but a nice addition in the cool months.

You answered this yourself:

Middle school and high school didn't have AC. It sucked, no two ways around it.
