I grew up without air conditioning, don’t miss what you don’t have.We were acclimated.
Now I would slit my throat if I knew I had to do without rest of my life.

So you are saying humans will all die if they went without AC for a few days, during the summer?
No, retard. I'm saying it would take much much longer than 2 days for for body to adapt and be comfortable in 95 degree weather compared to 75 air conditioned temperature. You wouldn't get used to it in a couple days. Also, you wouldn't all of a sudden forget what it felt like to be cool.
Has it gotten more bareable today than yesterday? No because 90 is still fricking hot whether it's today or 100 years ago.

Try applying calamine lotion to your balls during the heat of the day because the weekly shingles popped up again. Bless your hearts.

I could do it
When I work from home half the week, I don’t even turn the AC on

A lot of folks stayed on the porch until bed time. The homes also had high peaks in those days to naturally pull warm air to the top where it was released outside.

I grew up really poor and we didn't have central ac until I was about 17.
Never bothered me too much cause it was just how I always new. And the attic fan did a pretty good job of keeping the house cool.

I went to middle school that did not have AC. We had about 5 fans and wide open windows. After lunch lunch recess and after PE sucked! Hell, we didn't even have chilled water fountains.
I remember going to visit my grandparents who had only 2 window units in their house. They only ran them at night because it was useless in daytime. We sat outside on the porch for most visits. If it was raining, you sat real close together.
Oh yeh, and if you played organized football, there was no "official time out" in a game so everyone could have a drink. We had two-a-day practices in August for 2 weeks at about 2.5 hrs per practice. You got one water break at about the 90 minute mark. You ran, you sweated your arse off, and most people puked a few times during those 2 weeks. If you couldn't handle it, you quit. Nobody's daddy went to the school to whine about it. They just told you "maybe you should join the choir". No guy in those days wanted to be told that.

And you had better put something heavy on top of any loose papers sitting around or or the wind would suck them right off the counter.

you have to take into account the 1 or 2 degree difference in the past 100 years due to global warming.

You didn’t miss what you didn’t have.

Probably like everybody else did prior to modern heating and cooling
The only difference is now we have to worry about global warming and it's adverse effects on the planet and it's inhabitants.

Grew up in the deep south without it. Fortunately our house was under a canopy of pecan trees and water oaks that provided lots of shade. We did have fans.
We got a wall unit when I was about 8 I think. It wasn't powerful enough to cool the entire house so we would close the doors to its room and have one cool room.
To this day I'm ok with heat/humidity but cold weather I can't handle.

I remember when classrooms didn’t have a/c, much less gymnasiums.

Nah, there's nothing "tough" about starving your body of water when it's not needed and potentially causing severe medical issues. That attitude changed because it was a stupid idea. Lack of fluids also leads to more injuries.

Wife (no pics) and I were looking at houses a couple years ago and we ran across a completely remodeled ranch that kept the attic fan for some reason. She was born and raised in Seattle so had no idea what it was or what it was used for. She just looked at me and asked "why does this house have a giant fan that blows in to the attic?!?"
