Found this place on Google street view and I'm guessing insurance was not a factor.

How do you run any type of business without insurance? Guys policy would have been 5k for liability, property, and liquor liability a year and would still be in business.

Idk, but I've talked to small store owners (neighborhood places I shopped at) after hurricanes or robberies and it was pretty clear that their insurance didn't cover inventory losses. Probably just skipped any expense that wasn't mandatory.

This reminds me of a coonass family that moved into a rental property we run after Katrina. They showed up pulling two boats filled to the top with dirty liquor bottles. It was all the expensive stuff and they sold it to locals at a deep discount. Got a couple bottles of makers mark for myself.

BTW, they insisted I call them coonass.
