Houston teen kills himself while taking a selfie with a gun

Story Time
A 19-year-old Houston man, a day ahead of starting community college, accidentally killed himself Tuesday while taking selfies with a gun, police said.
The gun blast hit Deleon Alonso Smith in the throat, CNN affiliate KPRC reported.
Family members were shocked.
"It's the worst feeling in my life," Eric Douglas, the victim's uncle said.
"It's a numb feeling. It's still unbelievable," Smith's grandmother Alma Douglas told the station. "Yesterday was my birthday and he came to wish me happy birthday, and then to hear this kind of news."
Investigator's told KPRC that Smith's cousin was in another room at the time the gun went off.
The cousin told police they found the gun earlier in the day. They're investigating.

What is the point of taking a selfie with a gun? That just looks gangster when people do that and because he was starting CC I know he was not according to media. On a serious note this is terrible.

Again, how does a person even attempt to take a selfie with a gun? Is this a trend? I am at a loss because guns do not have cameras or do some have them now?

Once upon a time you had to be cunning enough or fast enough to escape a saber tooth tiger. We've devolved to the point where now some of us have to be cunning enough not to pose for a selfie with a loaded gun that he just found and probably didn't understand how to operate or clear of rounds.
