Search warrant describes a house and location exactly (not sure if it's the house in question or not). It also says that it will be a no-knock raid

Yeah so there goes uptopar's narrative from the entire thread. I just read the actual warrant.

I can't understand the thought process behind someone thinking a no knock raid is safer.
Posted on 1/30/19 at 7:11 pm to slackster
Said person is stupid and doesn't understand the risk.
I can't understand how cops are okay with it. Scenarios like this are far too common in no knocks.

Chief of police said at the press conf that night that cops announced themselves before entering as well as marked units on the street had their sirens going. Will be interesting what the investigation shows

So them standing outside, bellowing "POLICE" was not a hint?
Was probably a no knock warrant where they useually yell police as your door is being busted down or after entering.
Edit: Just saw post above but I would bet the announcement was simultaneous with entrance.

If you properly breach, bang, and clear, how do the bad guys have any situational awareness left to accurately fight back besides spray and pray? I only played Modern Warfare 2, but hell, seems like it would actually work in this situation to flashbang every window in the house before charging in.

He's said numerous things that have seen stories change.

He directly contradicted the warrant then.

Bro, do you honestly not know what a no knock warrant is? I don't think you do, so you may need to educate yourself.
No knock, means just that, no knock.
It DOES NOT mean no ANNOUNCE. They breech the door and immediately yell over and over "POLICE".
ETA: No Knock means they announce themselves AFTER the door is breached, and not BEFORE. That is all. No matter what, you KNOW who came through that door.
This whole idea that they just bust in the house and take people captive and they have no idea if they are being kidnapped by the mafia or what is going on...lol...is false.
The police announce well who they are as soon as they are through the door.

This whole story just doesn't add up. HPD looks like they have Vic Mackey running one of its Narcotics crew.

So if the report is true that the police identified themselves, and there were marked cars with lights on, then clearly his neighbor didn't know him.
I mean, how many of us really KNOW our neighbors?

The warrant was released
It called for a no knock

Outside of the drugs not being there what doesn't add up? There are plenty of explanations for that.
The man shot 5 cops and the woman was shot going after a gun. These guys don't exactly look like innocent people here.
Some neighbors are reporting they are extremely pleasant and no way guilty, and others have supposedly turned them in for being shady. So not sure there's anything to go on there.

Like has already been posted. They would still announce before entering and still have marked car with lights on outside.

That's obviously a laughable thing to ever report. I mean how often does a neighbor come out and say something like "that guy was a shady mo fo and I'm sure he is guilty as hell!". Its always something along the lines of "I never would have guessed he was mass murderer he seemed so pleasant".

5 police officers were shot here, it sounds like they are dang lucky to be alive.
The police may have screwed up, but this whole infatuation where the police were being gung ho idiots looking for actions is absurd. Those warrants are not taken lightly by anyone involved. Its a butt puckering situation that no one wants to be in, they do it for a reason and that's usually to prevent evidence from being disposed of by catching the perps off guard.

1. No prior records. 2. Lived in the house for 20 years and no prior incidents. 3. How do 4 officers get shot...some multiple times with one guy and a 6 round 357 Magnum? Do you think he has time to reload? 4.And do you really believe a 57 year old woman would reach and go for an officer's shotgun when other officers were coming in...nope..she would have frozen up and dropped to the ground to take cover. This isn't Bonnie & Clyde.

Those warrants place cops in a terrible situation. And for piddling heroin sales?
I'm not blaming the guys going in, but whoever sent them in needs to rethink priorities.
