The Houston Police Department position is clear: 7800 Harding St. was a drug house where black tar heroin was sold -- and where the homeowner opened fire on, and injured, several undercover officers on Monday. But something doesn't add up for those who know the neighborhood and knew the suspects best.

"If he would have known it was police, he would have never shot," Antu said. "No way. He obeyed the law. I tell you, he was a straight-up guy."
quote:
"They didn't deal drugs from out of that house," said another neighbor, who grew up with Tuttle and Nicholas. "They're not those type of people." In a search of the house after the shootout, Houston police found marijuana, an unknown white powdery substance, several shotguns and a rifle.
quote:
Additionally, a pitbull dog attacked them and was killed. Subsequently, a male suspect came from the back of the house and opened fire. An officer was hit on one of his shoulders and went down falling on a sofa in the living room.

Heroin isn’t a drug that sits on the shelf long

so it was tested on the scene and didn't come back positive for anything they have kits for?

You're telling me this is a house where it's sold and there's not even one tiny little shred of evidence of it in the house?

Did police have the right address? It’s happened before.

Their reality is so warped to violence that they actually think this is a good thing to say.

So them standing outside, bellowing "POLICE" was not a hint?
I always shoot through the door at someone knocking before I know who it is.

I may get killed for this, but Art Acevedo is a POS for getting on his anti 2a soapbox the day after his officers are shot executing a no knock raid.
These military style raids get officers killed. Is this the only way to serve a warrant these days? High school kids, all the way to gang members, get the same . Its a shite policy.

Not saying that's what happened, just playing devil's advocate.

The pitbull should be an additional weapons charge, locked up like evidence and destroyed.

Was this a no-knock warrant? I haven't kept up with it.

No knocks for non-violent crimes make for a fantastic 2a argument. bait title not withstanding there is a serious discussion to be had here. running no knocks in one of the most heavily armed cities in the free world is asking for trouble
