If an officer has reasonable suspicion you have committed a crime
I'm not seeing any reasonable suspicion here.

Depends on the totality of all the circumstances.
Without all the information pertaining to the situation, how can you determine what's reasonable or not?
It's like you're saying words just to say them.
Black guy with dreads is a criminal. Cop sees black guy with dreads and thinks "oh, it must be that criminal!"
There's your totality of all the circumstances.

Simmer down.
I was just pointing out the legal standard for an officer to identify someone in this type of situation.

When a cop sees someone he thinks fits the description of a wanted criminal, what is he supposed to do?
Do you think when cops walk up to actually wanted guys that they ever say, "Nah man, that's not me, but I ain't giving you no ID" ??
In this case, the cop should not have approached the man until the other officer with the picture arrived. The cop was certain that the man was the fugitive. Even if he had produced an ID, do you really think the cop would have backed down? Fugitives can have fake IDs or multiple IDs under different aliases.

Texas law states you're not legally required to unless you're arrested.
Or pulled over for valid reason while operating a motor vehicle...or if the officer has a reasonable suspicion that the person committed, or is about to commit, a crime.

This response being parroted over and over had to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
Who in the frick is carrying their wallet in their gym clothes while playing with their kids in the yard
"Honey you seen my wallet?"
"No why? Where you going?"
"Just in the yard to play with junior"
"Why do you need your wallet?"
Just in case cops show up and mistake me for a guy that has my hairstyle because they decided to do the bare minimum of police work before confronting me on the basis of yep he looks close enough. Complying with demsands of public servants of course always take precedent over my civil rights you know"
"Gotcha, check in the bathroom I might have seen it there

Yeah I'd be pissed too. The bootlickers will say he should have complied but the dude is basically trying to not get kidnapped.
