If you want a better life for your family, easily Houston. I laugh that I stayed in LA for 2+ years after graduation - the economic opportunities aren't even comparable.

I live in Bay St Louis, MS, and I'm less than an hour from downtown New Orleans. It's a perfect mix of small town and coastal living, neat yacht club community if you will, with super easy access to the city. We're driving down old 90 to city for the weekend as a matter of fact. Great little spot to live.

I enjoy the country life, but North Louisiana offers nothing. It's not scenic, the weather is terrible, and hunting & fishing leave a lot to be desired. I'd rather live in Arkansas or even north Alabama over north Louisiana.

I guess the reason you suck at hunting and fishing is because you are blind. I say this because surely if you could see, you would know there is some breathtaking views in certain areas of North LA.

None of the above. So glad I got out of the Deep South.

If I had to raised children and couldn't afford private schooling, I would choose Houston.

It's not much different than the weather in the 3 cities mentioned. Slightly colder in winter and doesn't rain as much in the Summer. Otherwise, the same.

Baton Rouge has the worst parts of all of those places
Baton Rouge is full of protestants? That's a new one on me.

If I had to move out of the state, I'd seriously consider the coast. I've always liked it and know a bunch of good people from over there

I remember years ago that someone had posted a picture on here from a helicopter of a wiccan stone circle with what appeared to be blood on the stones in the Kisatchie National Forest, somewhere deep in Winn Parish.
