Take a look at The Prescott I think its now called Hotel Zeppelin. Its right around the corner from Francis Drake. Its a Kimpton hotel. Stayed there a couple of times for an Oracle conference. Pretty nice.

Stay in the east bay and take the Bart in to the city. (10 min) You can stay at the Marriott city center for half that and be on the train line.

Or stay on alameda and ferry in if the train is not your thing.

The Clift is around 250. I stayed there the last time I was in SF. I liked it. Cool vibe and incredible bar area.

Hotel Vitale. Great location on the embarcadero right near the bay bridge. 300 per night. Well worth it though.

I've stayed several times at The Dylan at SFO (in Millbrae, near the airport, free shuttle service), probably half the price of staying in SF. There is a BART station a block away for easy trips into SF. Didn't have to rent a car or worry about parking (as well as the cost/hassle of parking in the city). Caltrain from that same station terminates a block from AT&T Park so there would be no hike to the game from the Powell or Montgomery BART stations.

I stayed at the Orchard Garden hotel last year and it was great. Basically right in the middle of where Union Square, Chinatown and the Financial District merge.

Hilton San Francisco Financial District is in a great location where China Town meets Little Italy right at the edge of the Financial District. It's a pretty good starting point if you like walking around the city.

Air BnB. My wife and I stayed in Hayes Valley and loved it. San Fran is very easy to get around. We fell in love with the city. Enjoy.

There is a name I haven't thought of in years. One of my clients from 1989-1994 used to own that hotel. Wolfgang Puck had a restaurant, Postrio, at the Prescott. I met him on several occasions at events there.

On separate occasions I saw Barbra Streisand and Madonna have dinner at Postrio.

I stayed at Kensington Park Hotel in Union Square a few years back. We were very happy with it. Took the BART to AT&T stadium with no problems.

Depending on what part of June you can get a room for around $200-$250

I stayed at the Stanford Court on Nob Hill for a lot less than that. Very nice and great central location.

Don't get on BART to go to AT&T, BART doesn't go there. Get on SF MUNI.

Sorry, I just remember taking a bus to the game. I just lumped it all in as BART. Dropped us off right outside the left field gate.

Hotwire. Search for San Francisco for the dates you want and there will be an option for an unnamed hotel for usually 1/2 the price of a four or five star hotel. You can pick the general area you want to stay as well. A few months back, I got a $450.00 a night hotel for $250.00 in the Embarcadero.
