There’s not a lot of things out there that survives 100 mph (which is actually 100+ + the speed of the other vehicle) that’s a massive amount of energy transferred

I mean yea I get that and it looked like the Truck actually ramped up the back of the car as well after I re-watched it. That might be the reason the top half was ripped off.

It got hit by a 7000+ pound truck going 50MPH faster.

Today's cars are much safer than those from even just 20 years ago and in fact often weigh more as well.

They weigh more due to all the safety structure built into them.

Yea I understand. That was my initial "from the hip reaction".

If they used the same techniques to build the cars from old as they do today, they would weigh double.

Damn.

Had no idea until clicking the article that a pickup truck was launched off the road into a building on the right hand side (if watching the vid).

Amazing that only 1 person died

It's a gray area. If it was the drunk and he only hurt himself I would say put it on a billboard. Those people didnt deserve that

fricking pickup truck drivers

9 times out of 10 when you see some a-hole driving like a maniac you can bet your bottom dollar they're in a pickup truck. they think they own the road and feel the need to drive way over the speed limit in a truck that can do a ton of damage to other people on the road.

you see it all the time especially in the south. all these macho men gotta have their overpriced, macho man truck that they don't truly need or properly use, but it makes them macho. (and if you're a responsible truck owner then you won't get offended by this. we're talking about the assholes who ruin it for everyone)

Give him a day to come down and think about what he did, then take him to a stake and shoot him. I'm sick of these fricks.

I drive a pickup and you’re absolutely right. American muscle car drivers can be terrible too.
