Used to love the Oscars. Had Oscar parties! Now, we don’t even know when they come on. Not only do we not watch anymore we don’t even know what is nominated for any category. Nor do we check to see who won what. A complete total waste of time.

As a show it’s shitty and boring these days. Haven’t paid a lick of attention for 10 plus years. That being said I don’t think it should go away. Some enjoy it so good for them. I can just easily keep not paying attention.

The Oscars decline is a pretty big deal. It used to be the second most watched broadcast after the Super Bowl on a yearly basis.

The Oscars ‘jumped the shark’ when they awarded ‘Shakespeare In Love’ over ‘Saving Private Ryan.’ And I blamed Harry Weinstein for that. He massively campaigned and strong armed voters into to voting for Shakespeare. And I’m glad that fat disgusting, repugnant piece of shite is in prison and wasting away because of this!

They're not going away any time soon. Hollywood is chock full of narcissistic, self-congratulatory assholes. This is an industry that revered and protected Harvey Weinstein for decades, blamed everyone else and then proclaimed their own virtue for it.

I think it held steady at around 40 million viewers average for decades. Then something happened around 2015 and it just started dropping off a cliff.
