Never an issue for Homewood. A much better community than the land of strip malls, Hoover.

By what measure, though?

Parks? Equity?

Hoover is way more diverse than Homewood. Hoover is not “bad” by any measure, but Homewood is definitely considered to be the better place to live.

The setup of Homewood is a bit odd. In the Edgewood and Hollywood areas it’s very nice then west Homewood is strip mally and that’s where you get the “diversity”

This is a stone's throw from my house. No thanks to having to hear speakers blast the call to prayer at 5am while I sip my coffee and watch the deer from my back deck.

Ok but how is this different than Amish communities or Native Americans have their reservations?

My argument would be:

Both have been here for centuries (in part). I'm not trying to exclude people with deep roots in this country even if they're not the same as me.

However, I don't think we need to facilitate making the US fertile territory for cultures that share minimal connection with the United States or her values. Shutting off the accommodation spigot and hoping the US ceases to be a destination for such cultures seems to me to be a better option than being overtly hostile.

Apparently there’s two Muslim schools in the New Orleans area (Kenner and Gretna). The area around the Gretna one has become Little Palestine.

I'm here for it but the area is hardly downtown hoover. It's closer to Spain Park and Oak Mountain than downtown hoover.

Near Doug Baker on 280.

This is likely the largest reason it did not pass. Had they chose a location down 31 or on Lorna Road, there would not have been as large of an uproar and it may have had a chance.

Well that rules Mountain Brook and Forest Park out. Very large Catholic population there.
Mountain Brook has a lot of Jews as well. Muslims would have no chance there.

The school’s present location is only a mile or so from Mountain Brook. What are you people even talking about. It’s been in Homewood for 25 years.

Turn off the damn Gutfeld lol

Mountain brook might be the most “untouched” place in the entire south.
