Oil changes are the last thing to be worried about lol. That motor is built for 400k miles easily. Just put full synthetic and change it every 5,000-6000.

I had an 04 I sold with 238k miles, my wife bought it new in college. Replaced the AC system twice I can't remember the issues exactly, tire changes, brake pads 3 times, rotors once, and that was it. Nothing major, except the paint was peeling badly when I got rid of it. I think I sold it for $2500.

The chief complaint about the accord is road noise. Maybe that's a big issue I don't know. Always a great car for us.

Our 2013 Accord with 48k miles just got a new starter, radio stopped working (wouldn’t even turn on) and transmission (automatic). Transmission grenaded itself all in the past 5k Miles.

All covered under warranty but still. Not sure if we got some bullshite lemon or what, bought it new in 2013.

I put over 275k on my 05 Accord and probably could have put another 100k if need be. Besides regular maintenance there were no serious engine problems. My 6 disc cd changed did crap out though and there was not a USB port.

I got a 2016 base model. 4 cyl with CVT trans...runs like a champ and gets amazing mpg. I average 38-40mpg and run minimum 80mph on the Interstate.

350,000 is a legitimate answer here

It's not a warning light. It's a percentage of life left in the oil. It's a 100% after oil change then 90, 80, 70, etc.

Wife has a 2009 model with about 170K. Won’t let me sell it.

Also, while I’m here, I did not like your comment on the Help board regarding me “polluting” other boards. The only board I “pollute” is the SEC Rant, sir.

no doubt. I have one at 150k and while the timing chain is due, everything else has been a breeze. Just keep in mind around the 150-160k range you WILL have to get a new timing chain.

Is this a new thing? I thought timing chains were good for basically forever lol? My 2004 went to 238k without ever replacing. I talked to multiple people about it and they all told me you don't have to replace it.

I agree. We’ve kept it meticulously maintained so hopefully everything replaced will be the last of the issues. It’s paid off so we’d like to keep it as a third vehicle for the future.

I found a cool device to plug into the Sat/Aux connector that had aux and usb inputs.
Something like this. Took a little work(watched a Youtube) to get the head unit pulled out enough to plug this sucker in but it worked AWESOME in my 07 Accord. My Iphone was essentially my Sat Radio. It even scrolled song/album data from Spotify across the Head Unit Display.

My neighbor has a 2006 Accord LX and he just went over 275,000 miles.

And the car looks good and drives well.

Whenever I ask him when he’s getting a new car, he says ‘when I need one’. I don’t think it’ll be anytime soon.
