This is a really interesting point that carries through to other outcomes. In particular, health outcomes. Not only does the link between poverty and crime act different among these immigrant groups, but also health outcomes. Poverty doesn't have the same health impacts on these people, especially Hispanics. It's mostly referred to as the Latino paradox, and seems to be particularly strong among Mexicans relative to some other Hispanic groups.

Yeah, that’s a given. They have to know they’ll never be street cops again. I’m sure they’re just holding out for the continued paid leave and the likely lawsuit payout on the chance that they are fired. I wonder how long the local AG is going to be able to put off making a decision. He has to know what he’s going to rule. There is nothing new to review and he’s been sitting on the case for 6 months. He needs to just rip the band aid off and release his decision.
