I had three Bevelo's in my old house and have 2 Primos in my current house. Have been satisfied with both.

Primos is owned by Notoco (Electrical supply house in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Hammond, Lafayette).

Not sure about Bevelo but Primos has a starter option so when you flip a switch, it lights the gas lantern. Mine are on full time so cannot give feed back on the auto-igniter...

Here is a link to the Primos Auto-Igniter

It is almost nothing. Less than 5 bucks a month for 2.

I have 1. My gas bill is around $25-30 a month which includes a dryer, water heater and the lantern. So I'd say it'll run you about $5-10 a month per

mine uses mantles, and one of the ceramic holders broke. Any place to buy replacements?

I hated having them in my last house because they were always blowing out and needed to be relit all the time. Don't know if that's normal but it was a pain.

I have 2 of them, and 1 of them goes out once a year, the other I never have any problems with. I always get nervous wondering how long it's been out for.

Is this thing still on? Anyone with front porch lanterns, I'm trying to figure out what size to get for my house. Please post a pic of your front porch and the size of your lantern. Size matters.

thanks and God bless...

Bevolo has a store in the French Quarter, you can see just about their entire line.

We have a traditional ranch style house with 8 foot ceilings, and are getting 18 inch Bevolo gas lanterns installed this Saturday. 18 inch is probably what most would consider "normal".

ETA: the electrical lanterns that we are replacing were also 18 inches.

Bevolo. I have 4 gas and two electric bulb versions for more light near the driveway. Looks awesome and gives you more light. Front of the house has the nice flames though. They’re well built.

We have 2 and it’s probably about $15-20/month.

I’m building a high end home and I really like the look of gas lanterns. However, I am not installing them because I think they are highly likely to be illegal in five years. There are electric alternatives that look good (but not as good).

This is a Covington store that sells the electric ones

At the very least, rough in for electric, because unless I miss my guess, you will be replacing the gas in a few years.

I think about 15 bucks.

We have 3

I like them. I think it classes the joint up. But they arent practical nor efficient.

I dont regret having them, but if they went away I wouldnt give it much thought.

not even fricking close. they look like shite compared to real gas.

that i agree with.

but they will never ban NG lanterns or NG in general. They may say new homes cant be built with it....good luck with that...but will not force retrofit.

Mine just cost me a $1,200 plumbing bill and 1.5 days lost from work because my SO made the tragic mistake of calling the city to report smelling gas in the house. Those things were not even the source of the detection inside, but were the things that made us fail the compression test. Let me tell you something about plumbers-they are not waiting for your call. Ours are now capped.
