I will NEVER understand the concept of "squatter's rights".
Why do these blue states allow this
It's not just Blue states. Also it's not just America. I've seen it happen in Britain as well.
Squatters Rights State by State

On one hand, squatters will always have some sort of rights for the same reason your kids have rights to live with you. THe law recognizes that there are non-agreement people living with the mortgage/deed holder. Such as kids, grandparents, domestic help, etc...
The problem is in more liberal jurisdictions, the bleeding hearts have taken it too far as usual. Their laws recognize a view that essentially says "it is worse to kick a homeless person out of an otherwise unoccupied house that the owner doesnt' regularly check on than it is to protect that person's property rights".
The laws in those jurisdictions were probably originally written to prevent predatory lessors from preying on tenants of little means or ability to fight back. But that also happens to protect predatory squatters, too.
IN many blue jurisdictions, the presumption is against the moneyed and for the "downtrodden".

This is insane. They entered someone else's property and claimed it as their own. What good does it do to own anything surrounded by these maniacs?? This goes against the rules of a civil society.
Just more proof that NYC is a communist-led cesspool. Avoid it at all costs.

Sorry but no way would I ever allow this to happen. Get 10 or so good buddies, frozen paintballs with paintball guns, middle of the night go in hard. Done.

“It’s enraging,” the homeowner said of the squatter saga. “It’s not fair that I, as the homeowner, have to be going through this.”
It does not sound like she’ll be happy owning nothing, WEFers.

They could choose not to enforce these laws just like they choose not to enforce immigration laws.

its going to be hysterical when a bunch of NYC libtards show up at their Hamptons mansions in June and there's a dozen MS-13 gang members at the door

I'd find out who passed that law and make their whole existence miserable.

The statutes are based on common law precepts going back hundreds of years. These are not new concepts.

Not sure you thought this through if you think frozen paintballs are going to get the squatter to fear you and leave and never return.

This is literally happening everywhere. And as others have said, it's based on old legislation/laws that actually served a purpose at one point.
The larger issue is that legislators COULD fix these issues but choose not to do so.
Posted on 3/19/24 at 5:08 pm to stout
This is when you pay the Mafia to fix it.

geez. just shoot them and go bury the bodies. No one would know they were missing anyway.
A. an intruder in your property.
B. police don't know if the person is a squatter or intruder.
C. You're allowed to protect yourself AND your property.
D. frick 'em.
