How are these numbers calculated?

These may be for comparison or historical purposes, but they are reporting school year from almost 2 years ago.

I guess if looking for solutions I wondering if something more current might be helpful. Some in this report could be from catastrophic weather event that is now corrected while ignoring more current issues that don't show in numbers.

Just wondering what is a current estimate and what is involved with this one that they aren't at least reporting 18-19 school year with even some estimates based on fall semester of this school year.

There has to be a good way to breakdown the 74% below to distinguish between real homelessness and people moving in together due to a hardship.
quote:

During SY 2017-18, 74 percent of students experiencing homelessness shared housing with others due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason. Twelve percent of homeless students resided in shelters. Seven percent had a primary nighttime residence of hotels or motels, and 7 percent were identified as unsheltered.

I remember a family member moved in with my mom, and i think her school age kid who moved in as well was considered homeless for these reports for first year it happened which was anything but the case. It was family and better situation for kid.

People move in with others due to hardship, and it may be a problem for some but an improvement for others. It's just hard to think many of these are the same as as some of the other situations. While I guess it helps draw attention with big numbers I also think it starts to numb people to kids living in shelters, on streets, or even jumping around a lot between houses of friends or family when they see people/kids in stable situations in a home or apartment labeled as homeless just because of circumstance of leaving prior home.

I'm not really even trying to go against him, just trying to fully understand the mentality. Believe what you want to believe, that's the poster's right.

I just am struggling wrapping my head around the stance in general.

It is. A person a life support can't do any of that stuff you listed as necessary for being a person. You're just mad that your logic can't hold up to this basic scrutiny. It's why you were A-Ok with modifying your stance on 3rd trimester abortions when I called you on that as well.

I never modified my stance on third trimester abortions? We've always been on the same page there but you're letting your emotions get the better of you.

Nope. That life has already started. Human functions are happening. There is no scientific argument you can make to say they aren't. Abortion ends that. Quit being a bitch and just own what you're advocating for.

Fetus functions, not a human yet. You must be really mad for the name calling.

A fully developed brain that is unaware of the world and its own existence, sure. It would also be unaware of its existence ending.

Any time soon =/= ever. You inadvertently let it slip that it is something you could consider, and then when called on it, you backtracked.

I'm not mad at anything. I just don't have to hide behind spin.

So in your mind a fetus only gains consciousness the second it is born, but not a single moment before? Can I see your science to back that up?

Saying I don't plan on doing something "any time soon" is how I talk in real life and means "ever" to me in that context. Not sure what to tell you there

I'm not sure at all when anyone gains consciousness, no one is. Also part of the reason I would never support third trimester abortion any time soon.
