There are DV shelters, there is Section 8, there are programs upon programs upon programs that tax payers pay for to help others.
Can’t afford housing? Move
Can’t find a job? I doubt that
Don’t do drugs

Can’t afford kids? Don’t have them

There is a lot of housing I can't afford. So I don't live there.

when you cause your kids to become homeless. It's a problem for their children and anyone concerned with children living on the street.
so it took an opioid addict fricking over their children to make you want to do something about impoverish children, when the US government has incentivised the poors to procreate like rats since LBJ?

I dont know if things have changed, but the US spends more on education than any other country. Or at least we are up there. The federal government spends the most on transfer payments. Meaning giving money to people through social programs never receiving anything in return.

That's a bizarre take. My point was simply that, for a homeless child, a junkie parent is not simply a "you problem", as you asserted.

this theory really can't be supported by data in any way FYI. at least not after about 2000ish.

coincidentally, during that time our country's overall wealth and the vast majority of working class (or below) have separated like oil and water. and I can back that statement up with about a trillion data points, sourced from anywhere ya like

i mean it was pretty common acceptance in this thread that no on is blaming the children.... so the "opioid crisis" is a you problem. The probelem with the homeless child is that they drew the short stray and got junkie parents. You have to trace it to the root of the problem the parent not the pills. that parent was going to ruin their life because they are that way.

After living in Portland I believe it. Everytime you go out into the city you're reminded of it.

They leave trash everywhere too. And the highway signs have the nerve to say "$6000 fine for littering "
