Homeless US student population 'highest in more than a decade'

Spent my whole career in education administration. 1.5 million "homeless students" is complete bullshite, because I have registered hundreds of students over the years because:

A student was living with relatives or friends because they had recently migrated or were illegals:

classified as Homeless on registration forms

A student moved in with granny because they didn't know their dad, and mom went to dry out in a clinic:

classified as Homeless on registration forms

A student had to relocate while their home was being repaired due to a storm:

classified as Homeless on registration forms

A student went to live with a relative due to a death:

classified as Homeless on registration forms

A student was incarcerated and received educational services:

classified as Homeless on registration forms

A student was placed under medical supervision after making repeated threats and received educational services:

classified as Homeless on registration forms

A family moves out of their home, while waiting on a new residence to finish construction:

classified as Homeless on registration forms

the report found that 76 percent of homeless students said that they "share housing," or live with others because of a loss of housing or other financial reason.

Nor does he shove them down your throat.
the thread is just another example that the idea of "self responsibility " is gone these days. everyone wants to blame something or someone else instead of realizing they fricked up.

So, we're the second most per child and I would assume the most in overall expenditures, and you think you are really making a strong counter argument to his point?

the fact that you think we rank second overall because we are listed second from the top is a really great manifestation of the problems we've had with properly educating our populace, tbh

So, on that list, who is ahead of us besides Norway?

I understand what you're saying and agree that it should be a "you problem". Unfortunately, they become a drain on taxpayer funded resources. Unless that changes it makes it a societal problem. That doesn't change the fact that it's 100% the fault of the junkie, but as taxpayers, we're the ones that are ultimately on the hook.

who has more? If I pay $5,000 in federal taxes on a $50,000 salary, and jeff bezos paid $5,500 in federal taxes on a $10,000,000 salary, would that be fare in your eyes since he did technically pay more?

do you know how taxes work?

do you really think there is a $500 difference in taxes making 50k vs 10 million?

Let's go ahead and re-visit what you said. Stop trying to change your argument.

You should probably stay away from numbers. It is clearly not your strong suit.

WOW

I’m posting entitled BS because I expect ADULTS to act like ADULTS, be responsible & take care of their kids or don’t have them.

spin it any way you like, but my main assertion was that the US' education expenditures are barely outpacing inflation rates of the last 15-20 years, and you're not going to find any numbers that disprove that

Well, considering this has nothing to do with the argument you were refuting, and is the first time you've even brought up this argument, it is actually impossible for me to be spinning anything.

I'm sorry you struggle with reading comprehension and numbers so much. I guess our education system is failing.

no it wasnt..... you said you cant say the US pays more for education then everyone else, when in fact, the numbers you posted proved the US DOES pay more than everyone besides norway.

THEN you said bezos pays $500 more in federal taxes then someone who makes 50k.
