There is a group in BR that cleans up the intersections around here from trash and needles. God bless them as they are all just volunteers but it feels like they are fighting a losing battle. They just trash it right back up.

Nightmare scenario. You could blast classical music at them like they’re doing in SF, or some other type of unsettling sounds. Your neighbors might get mad but they’re probably more concerned about the homeless

And truth is, maybe this is the right approach. Once you get enough money, find ways to bait the homeless into areas you avoid anyway, so they stay away from you

Howdy neighbor! I’d be more worried about how close you live to the apartment complex back there. Not one of the best.

If you know the owner, definitely get them to call the cops. I know there is one part of that property that is owned by someone in Texas and they don’t care about it, so the cops have told the residents they can’t make the homeless people leave if they that part of the woods.

Does anyone have any advice? I do know it is private land and know who owns it. Should I call them and let them know ?

Organize your neighbors.
All of ya’ll individually contact the property owner, the sheriff and your council person.
If you have an HOA have them do the same.

It’s a disgrace and the people we put in charge of keeping us safe need to know it.

Seriously. There’s no way I’d have let this go a couple days, much less weeks like it sounds. Those are crazy people with nothing to lose - the most dangerous type of person. And they’re all doing heroin and fricking each other and fighting just feet behind his bedroom window

I was on Essen and saw one of the Keep Tigerland Beautiful volunteers picking up litter around a bum as he was panhandling. It was unbelievable to watch

The opioid epidemic is no joke. There has been an explosion of homelessness in much of the country. If people would stop giving them money they'd at least go somewhere else. They are just spending it on drugs anyway.

So glad i have close to an acre of woods that i own behind me. My neighbors back there are deer and i'm good with that. Agree with some on here that having a group of people that dont really care sleeping right next me would have me on edge. I would defintely have a loaded gun ready for anything.

OP, look up Homeless encampment cleanup companies. There appears to be one called Bio One in BR. I’d call the land owner and ask them to hire that company. I’d also call the police daily til you get a significant response. Bring it up with the HOA and put it on the neighborhood next door page. And if all else fails, I’d pay for that cleanup service my self, sell or rent out the house and move, call the news and make a big deal out of this to put pressure on police and land owner, etc. frick ain’t no way I’d be able to sleep in your situation

This right here is a bunch of bullshite. (Not what you are saying, but the general principle.)

If the cops aren't gonna do anything, then they can just stay the frick out the way while people handle the issue on their own.

Mark my words, if this problem isn't taken care of now, with extreme prejudice, it will be your families, your wives, your children who pay.

Chase them out, root them out, beat them out, burn them out.

My wife worked at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, CA. They would get homeless in there and the staff would find housing and care for them after hospitalization.

None of them ever took it because they would have to pay most of their disability checks on it every month. They literally choose to stay homeless so they could spend all of their money on drugs.

Toss artillery shells over the fence. They aren’t going to call the cops. If a neighbor does then blame it on the crazy homeless people and say they have been doing it for a few nights
