I'm guessing LA is as bad as people say on here, I have never been that close to a homeless person to have that type of conversation.

Memphis is the panhandler Mecca.

The problem they had in the downtown area was severe enough that the Chamber of Commerce had to put out a brochure on how to deal with them. I myself got hit up no less than 4x in an hour's time once.

Bruce Hornsby would NOT be proud if Keith said that shite as a kid.

Once that guy said "yeah, right." I would've blown up. I don't fricking owe you any money dickbag. Where does that cocksucker get off catching an attitude with you for 1) not carrying cash and 2) deciding not to give him any.

The thought has crossed my mind a few times that panhandlers probably have a tougher time now precisely b/c people don't use cash as much any more.

As a UT fan its weird you've never been to Nashville.

I know you haven't been to Nashville if you haven't encountered a homeless person.

It's not that people only use them. It's that the cards give us an excuse to say no to giving them money. "Sorry man I would but I only got my card with me" when in fact I did have cash

I never carry cash so had a guy recently say, "ok but they have an ATM in that Albertsons. I'll wait for you out here." It actually made me laugh.

My go-to line for beggars: "I'm buying everything with cards, man. I ain't got a dime on me."

They don't even let you finish. Soon as you say "card" they're onto the next mark.
