Holy gaslighting Batman (NYT headline)

Good morning. The Buffalo killings are part of a pattern: Most extremist violence in the U.S. comes from the political right.
quote:
Numbers don’t lie’ Over the past decade, the Anti-Defamation League has counted about 450 U.S. murders committed by political extremists. Of these 450 killings, right-wing extremists committed about 75 percent. Islamic extremists were responsible for about 20 percent, and left-wing extremists were responsible for 4 percent. Nearly half of the murders were specifically tied to white supremacists:
quote:
As this data shows, the American political right has a violence problem that has no equivalent on the left.
WHAT!
337 murders by “white supremacists” in the last DECADE and we have a right wing problem? 797 people, mostly black, were murdered in Chicago alone just last year
This type of extreme gaslighting is what drives nuts to commit the mass shootings. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

45 a year and how many were killed by blacks in that span?...45-50k?? yep the problem in America is definitely political extremist

That is what "yellow" or "advocacy" journalism looks like.
They consider "Murders Connected to Political Extremism" to be a legitimate category only because they are stretching insanely to attempt to create a narrative of MAGA boogeymen.
How about "Murders By Race Of Killer" or "Murders By Race Of Killer When Victim Is Of A Different Race"?
We know those wouldn't fit the narrative they are trying to craft.

The gaslighting is unreal. Media openly fabricating shite.

So I guess in Waukesha the SUV killed those 6 people not the black supremacist

If he is not labelled as extremist, he does not fall on this chart.
Question ALL Sources.
ADL / NYT are not impartial sources.

Politicizing everything and making false claims are both killing the media's credibility ( with the left and right). Most people with any sense, those down the middle, those with rational cognitive skills are tuning out the TV news and not renewing print/internet subscriptions. The vast majority of folks are not radicals and can easily see through the BS.
I wish a media outlet would catch on and cater to the majority. Same with the mainstream entertainment options.

Fact. This is simple yellow journalism.
This once was the realm of the Inquirer and globe. The NYT and WaPa have taken the reigns. Its journalism written to pique the interest of a specific market and facts are optional.

I made the mistake last night and watched the video of his attack on that grocery store.
As someone who lost a family member to an unforeseen tragedy, I can only sympathize with how the families of those people shot must feel.
I’m so sick of events like this being politicized. Let’s call it what it is, a mentally I’ll person who wanted to do evil and mustered up the wherewithal to do it. I’m sick of us giving this guy airtime.
I can’t stand the media pushing this for an agenda. Someone’s mom or sister just got blasted while shopping for milk. This isn’t about teams.. Libs vs Conservatives. That’s someone’s family member who got killed.

this is the 2022 midterm play.
“all my opponents (Republicans) and anyone who voted for them are responsible”

I guess I’d label the Buffalo killer a white supremacist but more importantly I’d label him a known psychopath with known severe mental Illness that shared plenty of republican and democrat views. He most certainly wasn’t a republican and most certainly wasn’t a democrat. He was an evil lunatic that did not share any common/consistent political beliefs

I hate how you hyphenated this.

Journalism in the traditional media is dead; has been for decades. They now openly operate as the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party. The New York Times is one of the most blatant examples. They play the same role for the Democrat Party as Pravda did for the Communist Party in the Soviet Union.

I bet you the NYC subway shooter and the Kenosha parade incidents aren’t included in this study.

have an upvote. solid post.
what is more concerning is the kid made a documented threat of a school shooting just last year. went through a psych evaluation and was released.
BUT Soccer Mom’s pushing back against CRT in middle school classrooms are targeted by the FBI and DOJ instead. What in the frickity frick?

So there are on average 45 murders in the US each year by so-called extremists. BR had something like 180 homicides just in 2021.
Now tell me which is a bigger issue? So-called extremists murdering folks are your ordinary down home murder that happens all the time?
