Anyone work in a company that has adopted this organizational method? Positions and titles are done away with and everyone is on the same level- no hierarchy. Zappos and Twitter use it, with varying results. A local BR company is implementing it now- any thoughts?

Well, that's how Jesus wanted us to treat people...
But Jesus also said that we need to respect authority and pay taxes to government...
ETA and you spelled it wrong.

It wouldn't work with most companies but there are some I can see it working with, especially small start ups.

I have no strong opinion either way but it'll never catch on. Too many people derive their only sense of self worth from their work title.

I read that article on Zappos. All they did was turn their pyramid into circles. People still lead and manage, no sizable company can run otherwise.

Too many chiefs, not enough braves.

Frick no.
If those lower level birches at work don't do as told or get mouthy, they are some fired MF'rs.

There can only be one captain of a ship. Is this a PC concept?

^^^ in case they missed it the first two times.

That crap doesnt work in the real world. You need command and control in most industries. Tech companies aren't the real world.

Tech companies are what the real world runs on
If IBM and all of their products/data disappeared into thin air overnight there would be global anarchy

Depends on how you define lead, but somewhat.

Do you consider Zappos sizable?

I'm sure the guys that have been with the company 20 years love being considered equal to the guy who just got hired last week.

Whatever Zappos is doing, let's hope they continue.
Fantastic company.

You're saying that managers don't manage? You have any experience at all in the real world, little boy?
