The networks want you to be attractive and competent. If you can only be one of those they would prefer attractive over competent.
If being really good at the job is all you have, you need to be really really good at your job and Holly Rowe is that.

Holly is very good at what she does and could get it just for ball knowledge.
I say “Holly you sexy minx” once a game and doesn’t even get a side eye from my wife any more.

All of the Holly Rowe fan boys say she is great at her job but nobody can tell us what makes her better than a hot blonde.
They all ask stupidly obvious questions to an annoyed coach. That's not some type of deep analysis and understanding of the game.

If you'd rather look at the reporters than hear what they say just go watch porn. She's the best female sports reporter.

It's a dumb job. It's an unnecessary job. These apply universally in this field. That being said, Holly Rowe has an understanding of the game that most of the sideline reporters lack. Most of them sound like they spent 4 hours in makeup and 5 minutes reviewing some note cards.
Holly Rowe can talk about football, basketball, softball and not sound like a dumbass. I think coaches trust her and don't hate it as much when she's working the game. Although some I'm sure prefer someone hot and young.
The fact that she's still around at her age kind of speaks for itself.

This. And, I would add that she can talk about college and professional baseball and football, men and women college basketball, and the WNBA. I don't know if she can talk about the NBA because I don't watch that crap. Holly is the best in the business. She is knowledgeable and works hard. She is everywhere. As ZZ Top would say, she is nationwide. No one on the sidelines (man or woman) can match her.

All the Holly Rowe cheering is just the MSB's strain of virtue signaling. We get it. You're more open-minded, tolerant and empathetic than us because you root for an overweight, unattractive woman asking the same generic, superficial questions as every other sideline reporter. Oh, and you're touched that she survived cancer. Just wanted to remind everyone since it hasn't been mentioned in 4-5 posts.
