Damn. I've been driving down to lower Cameron more lately and there is NOTHING like that clip with the houses anymore. It's a very, very desolate area.

Looking at the list, it is funny Grand Isle or Elmers Island didn’t sneak onto the list.

We bring the kids.

It's a lot better than it used to be. Well bring my cargo trailer and back down a cut until the trailer tops rolling and is pushing sand.

Unload a four wheeler and let the kids putt around and picnic. Do some fishing. Spend the morning out there.

We've had a lot of fun, especially during Covid-era when all mind of shite including parks were closed.

We homeschool and would go out there during the week and there wouldn't be a soul around and we had the beach to ourselves.

We have a AC and run by generator inverter and plan on camping as they get a little older for like a night. Enough to have a little fire out there.

Seriously...if it is in driving distance y'all should really appreciate the Holly Beaches of the world...they may not be as pristine as Pensacola Beach (in my opinion the prettiest beach on the planet) but what they lack in aesthetic value they more than compensate for in freedom to do pretty much anything you want within reason. They are fast disappearing...it is nearly illegal to glance at Pensacola Beach let alone set foot on it...forget about building a fire, camping, cooking etc. Plus the crowds tend to be smaller and consist of people you wouldn't mind being friends with compared to the assholes you find on "pristine" beaches. The Holly Beaches of the world, are, in my redneck opinion, favorable to most beaches folks would consider vacation worthy.

Seriously...the fact that this is still an option, in my mind, puts it at the top of the list. This would get you tossed in jail at most beaches and might cause you to have to whip several asses before the police showed up due to the number of people who would be apoplectic over your kids and a vehicle on the beach. The sand may be brown and smell a little but at least you can by god step on it without some sniveling bastard worrying about a turtle or a sea oat...

This list is some kind of attempt at , beaches not known. It’s trying to select the ones you have never heard of.

That stretch of Santa Rosa island between Pensacola and Navarre is beautiful. Pensacola itself has become expensive as shite tho over the past few years tho. $500/night for a holiday inn.

As far as holly beach, i spent a couple weekends out there summer 2009, but most of it had been wiped out by Rita. My friends dad worked at one of the plants and we stayed in a camper. Crabbing was good, fishing was okay. Some days the water had a green tint, and looked better than grand isle. Did a lot of skim boarding and riding four wheelers on the beach. Saw a girl get out her car, pull down her pants, & squat to piss on the the side of LA 82. That area was pretty desolate then, and probably still is. Good times.

That’s right, our very own Holly Beach is listed as number 89!
#88 was a Wastewater Treatment Plant in El Paso

Joking aside, I don't want to know what 90 through 100 are.

If Holly Beach made number 89, makes me think there must only be 89 beaches in the US.

Watched a few kids surf fishing at night hook a shark.

They worked as a team, got it up to shallow enough water to unhook. Then position it so water would run through it to reoxygenate and it could swim off

Oldest was maybe 12-14. Youngest 7 or 8.

Dad never stood up from his chair.

I wanted to shake his hand. Dude is raising men.
