Didn't Holly Beach also top the list of beaches with the highest concentration of fecal matter in the water?

I doubt anyone making this list has ever visited Holly Beach in person.

LOL. Personally I like Holly but it would be an acquired taste for most folks. I haven't been since the late 80s though so it may have changed. Hard to imagine it has changed significantly for the "better" though.

My dad and I were sleeping in a truck camper on Holly Beach one night in the late 70s and I woke up to my Dad saying "son...hand me the gun...." LOL. Police everywhere with lights flashing and a 4 door sedan parked in the shadow or our truck and the water...dudes were hiding from the cops. Daddy opened the camper doors and they shot out of there only to mire up to the frame of the car about 50 feet away...took to their feet for another 50 feet before being tackled by a pile of cops. They had apparently nearly beat a man to death in a bar. Good times. Spent the rest of that night watching a lightning storm torment a oil rig LOL...that was impressive also...

In the late 60s we would go catch crabs and boil them on the beach . Cooked them in wash tubs with tire tubes under tubs for heat . Parents would drink schlitz beer .

It being Holly Beach and Louisiana in general I am surprised the Schlitz was reserved for the parents and not the beverage of choice for anyone older than 12....

Crabs and beer on the beach is like manna from the Gods...way too few opportunities for such in the world today...

I spent many of weekends at Holy beach in my HS and just after HS years. Short drive windows down, smoking green and rolling to classic rock. There used to be an awesome bar that had pool tables and served food. Incredible juke box. Forgot the name.

I seriously doubt the water is emerald green. Not in that location.
There are occasions where the emerald-green waters of the Gulf creep in close enough to see. It's usually late winter, but it does happen from time to time.

This is La. Hwy. 82 between Holly Beach and Constance Beach (not far from Dung Beach )
