Otho surgeon recommended these for my foot isssue. Said I needed a big cushion, but with a stiff toe box. The Clifton 3s were the only ones that fit that criteria at the shoe store(they only had 3 different kinds). Online there are more. Any help would be appreciated.

The Clifton 3 sounds like an accounting shoe.

They are different. Low drop which is not normal on heavily cushioned shoes. Really high platform. I tried them once. Felt strange being on such high platforms, but I'm sure you get used to it. The low drop thing can take sometime to get used to. You'll possibly have sore calves for a bit.

I've had a pair of Hoka Bondis for several months now. Recommend em if you're looking for max cushion.

I have 2 pair. One is Bondi 5 and other is Arahi. Took a bit of getting used to at first, but I love them. I'm an overpronator and HOKA shoes offer great stability.

I run in Altras right now (first pair). They are comfy shoes, but they don't have a lot of stiffness in the sole. They flex A LOT. Might not be great with a foot injury.

Went through 3 or 4 pairs of saucony ISO triumphs when indies Ted started running. Decided to give the hoka Cliftons a try. My big toenail was squeezed off from all the running and the tight toe box.
Went back to sauconys and continue to use those and love them.

I tried them and the high platform really bothered me.

I never did. I quit running in them.

A shoe worn by accountants while they account? Like a running shoe is worn by runners when they run.

I am a fore foot striker with underpronation.

Any recommendations off the top of your head? I've tried a few "neutral" shoes, but it seems like every shoe out there is for pronators and /or heel strikers.

Ive had the Bondi 3's for a while now and gotta say that Ive grown to really love them. For anyone with knee, hip, or back issues, the hoka's are great shoes. I uses to always describe them as running on pillows. They have a huge cushion but do take some getting used to. I was used to Brooks running shoes before and wasnt used to that much cushion at first. Once you get over that, they are great.

Clifton 3s are good for you. They are light and made for underpronation. They are actually a nutral cushion shoe which is what we as underpro guys should wear with as much cushion as possible. This shoe happens to be light as well which I really like. Other shoes similar such as triumph are much more heavy and bulky. This is a great shoe for underpro and also fat people who are starting running.

The Clifton 2s had that problem. It was corrected with the new 3s.

I've found the Bondi 5s online and they look nice. Good reviews. Without trying them on, though, I'm not sure. I've got 2nd MTP(toe) synovitis. Hurts like a mug when I run or even walk long distances. Pissing me off.
