I’m sure those speed cameras are extremely expensive.
If someone were to break the lenses with a baseball bat, I’m not sure they could prove who did it.

whoever lives by it should put a radar jammer in their yard pointed at it.

If you let people speed, pretty soon they're parking boats in the driveway.

Just go tell my ex's dipshit cousin that those camera/radar stations are loaded with copper.
Problem solved.

This is a stupid way to deal with speeders.
Just throw a 2 x 4 with a few nails in it in front of a speeding teenager like a normal person.

Not a terrible idea. The soccer moms in my neighborhood do 45 in a 20 consistently because Jax is late for practice
I agree….if they would our homeowner’s assoc dues by the amount they offset, I would actually vote for it!

As soon as I saw the title, I knew it would be in Texas.

They can add the fee to your assessment. If you don’t pay they put a lien on your property. If you ever sell it the mortgage company won’t issue a title if it’s unpaid. Sucks but it happens.

These are a whole lot of made up words from someone who hasn’t read the HOA covenant or governing papers, Mr Lincoln Lawyer
Correct, haven't read their restrictions. Their attorney made a bunch of ambiguous statements that make it seem like they have the power to do this, but they probably don't. Serve on the HOA of my hood so am familiar with the processes. I'm not a lawyer, but did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

Not sure I agree with this but I do not understand why people drive so fast through subdivisions. Do people really think they are saving much time driving 40 when the speed limit is 25?

People think this, but they actually can regulate some things like parking on public streets in most states. Arizona and Nevada have specific laws that restrict them from doing this, might be others now. Tennessee actually wrote an investigative opinion on what an HoA can and can’t do when they were writing a bill to limit HoA power. One of the things discussed was parking on public streets. It specifically said that the state shouldn’t restrict this as it puts more responsibility on local government to maintain safe streets. So yes, they fully support HoAs regulating public street parking.
There is also precedent in some states where HoAs have won the right to maintain safe streets by giving fines for unsafe driving .

Certainly not most and there are HOA's that have been sued out of existence for attempting to enforce parking restrictons on public roads. HOA's are often limited on how they can enact and enforce speed limits too, the HOA for my parents' subdivision attempted to enforce a speed zone within the community only to be told that the fines are not enforceable. $40,000 camera system was scrapped.
