I don't know but it seems like destroying historical landmarks is unfair to the general public from an educational standpoint.
I was going to go so far as calling it a crime against humanity but the irony would have been a bit too much for my taste.

Hitler very rarely visited the Eagle's Nest and when he did it was usually for a few ceremonial hours. He didn't like the place.
Apart from the views, it's really only relevant because all of Hitler's other habitats and hangouts were completely destroyed during or after the war.
