and you don’t give a shite since it’s a young white woman. call a spade a spade and we can understand each other a lot better. but instead, you’ll hide behind the “I care about everyone” bullshite

Think about IF he is telling the truth. That would absolutely suck. Here he is, mad about his broken mirror and then gets a call from a friend and he’s wanted for a felony that killed someone.
I think he is. Probably has tow mirrors, went a few hundred yards when he came to a complete stop, got out, looked, and chalked it up to an animal. Seems like a shitty situation all around.

Don't know why y'all feed them. Just ignore the frickers.

ignoring “conversation starters” is partially why we are where we are

They don't conversate, they just do hit and runs. They should be treated like the trash heap they are and told to frick off or ignored.

which is fine, but ignoring them doesn’t make them disappear. so instead of ignoring them, go nuclear every time they speak until the roaches are flattened

Why would you not turn around for your mirror at least once?

How shitty must her friends feel for whatever petty argument they had that caused her to get out of the car?

ma'am/sir, that's my mom that you're talking about. You know who else's life was ruined? Mine. Please think about what you say before you post it. Have a great day.

Always one

Right?!
I started reading the thread thinking it was fresh news. I was like, damn, another woman hit on Jefferson by Highland?!? We need to form a committee or something!
Since it’s been bumped, does anyone know what happened to the driver? Any charges or convictions?

Don’t. Let her rest I. Peace and try to find some peace and acceptance of this tragic event in your heart.

You know, there is no excuse for a hit and run, EVER, but I do think it bears mentioning that the parish does hold at least some culpability in hits like these on stretches of roads like that with absolutely no sidewalks or street lights in sight.
Again, not giving the guy in the truck a pass here. There is none to give, especially for a hit and run, but when you have apartment complexes that have been there for a decade or longer and people walking to the store on the reg, and I’ve seen them with no place to walk and no street light in sight, stuff like this is bound to happen. It’s horrible to be sure of when such a loss of life is taken, but this is no longer some sleepy little southern community, but an ever enlarging city, and so maybe we need to think of that when we dole out building permits for higher density residential areas along what were once sleepy country roads. If you’re going to build, then you need to provide the infrastructure to support it, or don’t hand out the permits until you’re ready to do so.
This ticks me off because this is completely preventable.
