So if European mass migrations and countless wars never happened, where would it be population wise? Are y’all just going to ignore that?

About the same, or less, actually, if you’re making the argument that war has kept Europeans back and they would be more advanced sans war.

You know that education and income level drive the number of children a couple have, no?

A more advanced, peaceful Europe would have an overall higher standard of living with a higher income level compared to today.

This would coincide with a lower birth rate than they have now.

In essence, you’re making the argument against your argument.

Also, kinda sad no one commented on my awesome map. Old maps are cool

Probably because they are way better off here.
Liberia had a couple of brief periods where it did ok economically for the ruling elite (descendants of slaves from the US), but was more often a shithole and mostly remains that way. Since 1980, the Americo-Liberians aren't even in charge anymore. And there was a multi-decade civil war that really brought it down. From what I've seen, it has recovered a bit but I sure as shite wouldn't go there for vacation.

Who said more peaceful and advanced? Last time I checked, the consequences of WW2 influenced the USA economically rebuild that continent and militarily enforce peace and stability….Debunked

Africans are extremely proud of where they come from and they support each other like America used to do. Their communities here in the US are one of the best to be a part of.

You’re the mouth breathing idiot who thinks the European conquest of Africa was due to just “machine guns and modern technology” while not having the common sense to wonder why it was that African counties (actually tribes) were still using edged weapons and animal skin shields instead of having modern weapons of their own.

fricking idiot.

Precisely. Black America is the wealthiest black "nation" and in fact would be one of the wealthiest nations on earth by iteself.

Also, there’s a great book I have somewhere.

Europe seriously fricked Africa over in their decolonization process. I believe in Ghana, the British were so petty they destroyed all records on purpose just days before the Ghana government took over.

Some regions in Africa were depopulated by 50%.

Also…. Europeans did some weird tribal gerrymandering which also ducked things up horribly by grouping peoples together that have constantly been at war prior. There is a lot of reading out their that African tribalism is a false concept

If Africa was smaller, you'd likely see a similar situation today.

Africa being incredibly massive, without a lot of continuous farmland, and being separated from the Mediterranean diaspora, hurt its development.

This led to a lack of major empire, which is critical to sociological development. This is why America was developed during colonialization and imperial desires. Europeans also had a few more centuries to conquer the entire continent because they started earlier.

Also, disease killing 90-95% of natives between European expansion made a major difference.

They read a book and never bothered to try alternative thought.

Its full of "interpretation" and half truths.

The Chinese are evil. they finance shitty projects knowing the host nation will be unable to pay it back, and the take ownership.

They've financed quite a few projects in the Caribbean and S. America too.

"Evil?" You must truly hate Western Europe and the US.
China is our enemy and we need to use proper policy to compete with them but they are just late to the game. What do you think European nations, Western based NGOs, and the US have been doing for a long time now? And we did it to China until Mao too.

If you simplify history into good guys and bad guys, the West is Satan personified. A man of wealth and taste, but oh, the exploitation and butchery.

Truth is, the West ultimately made the world a better place due to those "evil" practices but that's my Western perspective, shaped by Western values and having lived well fed with air conditioning my whole life.
The Chinese are simply trying to "get theirs." Can't blame them but if we like our well fed, HVAC having ways, we better meet their challenge.

The modern western model is nothing like Chinas. Not in the least.

"Belt and Road" initiatives put heavy debt on nations that cannot pay it.

The lack of navigable rivers is the major hindrance and why a lot of the interior has been dominated by pastoralist and nomadic peoples.

Africa being a giant arse plateau way above sea level doesn’t help either.

Compare Africa's sub sahara areas with North America. We have natural trade routes and agricultural areas compared to Africa which lead to rapid development.

Read last month Wilbur Smiths "triumph of the sun", detailing the 1880's clash at Khartoum. Excellent background material to help understand the current fighting in Sudan.

Wilbur Smith had written about 45 historical novels of Africa covering the period from building the ancient pyramids to modern day Rhodesia. Africa has a lot of history, mostly violent, always tribal.
