Housing assistance
How it works: Families with a voucher typically pay about 30% of their adjusted gross monthly income for rent, and the local public housing agency pays the rest to the landlord.
Finding housing: Families can use the voucher to live in any eligible home, including apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes.
Eligibility: Eligibility is based on income and family size, and generally, an applicant's income cannot exceed 50% of the median income for the area.
Edit for mathing wrong: That $1,800 rent, they only have to pay 30% of THEIR adjusted income. If they only make $1500 a month, they pay $500 a month rent.

It is nothing for them to get fake papers but she is probably illegal. The thing to worry about is if she is being trafficked by the cartel. A lot of latinas on the escort sites these days and that is who is pimping them

Just wait until the rest of her family come pulling up in a old beaten down van and 15 of them pop out.

I don't know the area, but your neighbor needs to go up on that rent.
Here's 1,580 sq ft for $2000 on Riverscape Drive in your area

1,500 sq ft for $2400 on Leo Avenue

$1800 is very cheap for 2000 sq. ft. if you're in the BR area. I have friends with a 1500 sq ft house and they rent it for over $2,000 a month.
You’d be lucky to get 2000sqft for $5500 around here

I've got a couple of rentals down in FL that are smaller than that and go for considerably more, location, location, location

Yeah, I know the three most important words in real estate. It doesn't make almost $2k to RENT any more acceptable. Sad state of affairs with housing that this is "normal".

rent is pretty high where I live right now, which is a "normal" area, I think it's a combination of the slow down in the market, but no significant drop in pricing of houses on the market, both sides waiting it out

Don’t forget the home church where they block your car and park in your yard.

Probably doesn’t speak English or does so poorly. Might be here illegally but many just have short term visa of some type

Congrats on the fajitas.
Maybe they will invite you over for the quinceañera.
Just noticed the pic, you might want to change your title to Latinx, she looks like one that would cut a bitch for calling her Hispanic.

But oh well.

I think a lot of the more successful/stable illegals are putting some distance between themselves and their more shady family and friends. Them ICE raids are sweeping up normie illegals while targeting cartel members and such.
Her husband probably either has a good job or has his own contractor business. Their family is probably the type that gets targeted by raids.
Gotta keep the remittances flowing.

That's part of that cultures "machismo" mentality. The man is the "King" and the woman better know, and keep her place.
And if her husband is an American, he's just bought into that whole screwed up tripe of keeping the women subservient.

She might just want to be left alone. There's no conspiracy.
