Spool up the Zebco 606s
White Shark Hilton recently pinged in from the Gulf of Mexico, a location we haven't tracked him to before. We had Dr. Robert Hueter, OCEARCH Chief Science Advisor and Mote Marine Laboratory Senior Scientist, give us some insight.
'After spending nearly a year ranging up and down the Atlantic coast from Nova Scotia to Florida, Hilton, a mature male white shark, popped up in the Gulf of Mexico west of the Florida Keys 10 days ago. Since then he's made his way toward the Florida panhandle, a famous fishing ground for sport fishermen. No doubt Hilton's doing a little fishing of his own, chowing down on the many fish of the canyon and shelf region there.'
Hilton has plunged much deeper into the Gulf since his brush-up with Northwest Florida. His most recent ping came at 4:58 a.m. Thursday, southwest of his previous ping and closer to the shores of Louisiana near Port Eads.

Isn’t the gulf too warm for a great white?

The migration patterns of those sharks is nothing short of amazing when you look at how much ground they cover.

I think it would be amazing if a shark covered 10 feet of ground.

Should I make a roux, or just some rice?

Welp, I may reconsider my surf fishing trip to Elmer's Island tomorrow. Thanks MrLSU
