And, frankly, before the last 20 years of constant paranoia, NO ONE would have thought it was weird. Dude wouldn't even have been noticed.
Speaking for myself, I find nothing more likely to bring a quick smile to my face than seeing children having a great time being children.
I can imagine that if I had time, I'd enjoy watching kids play at almost any time. Yet, I know that if I sat at the park just to enjoy watching laughter, some fear monger would be all, "OMG, is he scoping our kids for sex!!!"
No people. The vast majority of us in the world are normal people who don't look at children as sex objects. In fact, they're just great sources of humor and a wonderful window into the innocence that we all once had in our lives.

After reading some of this thread, I expected a massive lens. That lens isn't huge and the dude gave a reasonable explanation why he was there and immediately offered to show his identity. She comes off as a nut job and was harassing him. He doesn't seem like a paparazzi at all in the questioning.
