Prompted by This News Story

quote:

Stephens was taken to jail where he was administered two blood-alcohol content tests.  One measured .282 and the other .284. Each one measuring three times the average intoxication level of .08.

quote:

An Independence County man told a deputy the reason his vehicle was in the ditch was due to water on the roadway from a recent rain causing him to slide off into the ditch.

Facts at the scene tell a different story

The "Buttchugger" at UT also happened to be one of my high school classmates (unfortunately).

The night of the incident he went to the hospital with a .48.

Gotta remember I worked ER for a decade.

Had one come in that tested 0.48 and essentially comatose but technically "alive", was found unresponsive (passed out) at a fair type event in the parking lot.

Saw several 0.3xx, usually cuffed to the gurney with a guy in uniform attending. Not always cops, some were military and not always MP. Had one attended by the base commander. Never did get the story on that one.

Def Leppard's Steve Clark

quote:

Clark’s blood alcohol level was 0.59, considerably higher than the 0.41 level that John Bonham registered when he died.

And this didn't kill him

Picked my older brother up from the hospital once... he was coherent af at 0.486, fell and knocked himself out Pretty sure he did a line with the upstairs neighbor and then proceeded to chug a little more vodka when we got back to his place. I pretty much flipped the frick out on him the next morning. Was not amused having to monitor a grown arse man to make sure they don't aspirate vomit or going to get anti seizure meds.

Judge held a guy in contempt one morning for showing up drunk. I ran him and he was a .404%bac at 9:30 in the morning. Did 2 more test and each was the same.

.41 and the man claimed to have not drank since the night before and was coherent
Edit: by coherent I mean fully functioning. Was an exec chef at a nice Austin restaurant. Had worked the entire day before blowing that
