I don't know if he's qualified or not, but the politics and racial overtones of the SWB administration are going to earn this guy immediate criticism. Everyone assumes he got the job because he is black, which is ironic when this place bitches if someone says a guy got a job because he is white.

I'm very curious to see how the investigation will play out now. I have a feeling she went with this guy over Daniels because she knew she could get this guy to throw them on the ash heap quickly. I'm sure they'll be fired, but if they aren't indicted, it'll be interesting to see how the handle the unrest.

He was over the Bureau of Inveatigations. Didn’t LSP find that the officers involved in sterling incident were justified? Those investigators were ultimately under him.

Once again, nobody is mad that he's black. I don't care what color a police chief is as long as he beats the shite out of criminals. Nobody on this board has any faith that SWB hired anybody other than a criminal-friendly yesman. Her administration is a shitshow, and she loves to pander to criminals.
Also, the number of times Chief Paul spoke about community policing today in his press conference leads me to believe that proactiveness is not going to be a staple of his reign.
