I was thinking that when those two LSU students were arrested at the Florida game snorting coke, and were charged with a felony, even though the officer recovered less than a quarter gram. So these two students are felons for a little bit of pookie.
Just sad.
Plus it's a schedule 2. I don't get it.

It's coming back because open boarders are allowing the bad guys to destroy us from the inside out. Bring enough drugs in to destabilize the Country and you can make just about anything happen. And if you think I have a tin foil hat on just ponder this.....
There are more opioid scripts active in Louisiana today than there are people.....
so your proof to the open borders theory is the amount of Rx prescribed drugs?

Really? I was young and stupid too but that doesn't mean I didn't understand how dangerous heroin, meth and crack were. Weed, coke, X, etc sure, but you pretty much know not to frick with heroin.
The issue with heroin is much larger than just will you or won't you. It's a multi-layered issue.
A few of the things feeding the epidemic (at least here in Kentucky, where it's gotten pretty damn bad):
1) Pain management clinics that went unchecked for far too long. Seriously, these motherfrickers would hand someone 90 days worth of opioids for a "bad back" without any indication that the patient had tried alternative pain management methods like physical therapy, etc.
2) Tougher opioid prescription laws. They've become harder to obtain and the state is finally cracking down on doctors and dentists who were handing them out like candy. Unfortunately, the state also lacks the support of dealing with the windfall of opioid addicts seeking heroin as an alternative. And it was inevitable given that they're the same fricking compound.
3) Cost of drug abuse rehabilitation. I've had a couple of kids I've worked with and a family member under "good" insurance plans who had difficulty paying for rehab. Statistics pretty strongly show that an addict will likely relapse and that they'll likely need more than one trip to rehab. It's something we have to find a way to address because the current system isn't working.
4)The stigma of addiction. As a family member who has had to dealt with an addict and has suffered quite a bit of heartbreak, I understand the disdain. I understand the want to give up on someone. But the deeper I've gotten into psychology, the more sense it makes that it's not as simple as just quit. Are there some people who can do it? Sure. But it's naive to think everyone can. And the big issue is that it isn't just some junkie from the poor end of town that's overdosing, it's people from all walks and upbringings.
There's just a lot to it and unfortunately, we're not seeing a lot of good solutions to solving the issue.

Something like 70% relapse.

A couple of years ago the OT would have regular threads about posters getting their buzz on with various kinds of pills. You don't see that any more. I guess they wised up or are strong out on H.

According to the LSU Police Department, an officer entered a restroom in Tiger Stadium near section 218 on Saturday, November 19, when he witnessed two males in a restroom stall together.
The officer states he heard the two men talking and moving around in the stall. When he looked through the stall door, he could see a white powdery substance on the toilet paper dispenser. The officer knocked on the stall, and two men exited, who were later identified as James Porter, 21, of Baton Rouge and Conor Moore, 21, of Arnold, Maryland.
Upon exiting the stall, Moore explained to the officer it was his cocaine. The powdery substance was analyzed with a cocaine residue swab, and tested positive for cocaine. The two were arrested and booked on felony charges of possession of a schedule II narcotic.
Seriously though, how hard would it have been to throw the evidence in a toilet and flush and wet the dispenser top? Instead they opened the door. I would have said I was being gay before I admitted to that charge. damn.

Everyone knows someone with an opiate addiction. They just may not be aware of it yet. It's not just "degenerates" getting hooked.

This is what happens when you shut down all the pill mills without any sort of plan in place on what to do with the addicts.

To be completely honest, I have a hard time even pretending to give the slightest shite about this "epidemic." quote: I promise you addiction will sink it's hooks into someone close to you in your lifetime. Just because you love someone doesn't mean they can't be a weak degenerate.
If that degenerate runs a red light and t bones your wife and children you might start giving a shite.

You do know that almost all heroin is made overseas, right? Its not made in North and South America for the most part. The Wall won't do shite for heroin.
You do realize almost all the Heroin in the South and Midwest comes from Mexico, right?
Also, mexican cartels have focused more on heroin to try and recover revenue lost from marijuana.
Mexican Heroin

The wall will not stop anything. It will just open doors for creative smugglers.

For Bama weekend Bogie's had portolets under the tent. Half the time any of the doors opened, 2 or 3 people would come out

What's crazy is Ohio has the highest % of OD's and there is more heroin in Ohio than any other state

Didn't say it would.
Just correcting the statement and pointing out that most heroin does not come from overseas anymore. Mexican Cartels have taken that over.
