Honest to god that number would double if not for the dark net.
The shite they selling as brown is laced to stretch it and pass it off as h. Also makes it stronger than your normal street h but its so potent you for taking the same amounts
On the dark net that shite doesn't fly whatsoever

I doubt the percentage of junkies purchasing from the deep web is even close to 25%, much less 50%.

I didn't say the number of addicts. I said the number of od deaths. I get ny shite from the deep web (alpha bay). There are feedbacnd, reviews, seller ratings, etc. You know who to deal with and exactly what youre getting
The stuff on the street now is not a matter of people using that much more drugs, its a matter of the shite going around killing people because its laced. Even if you arenr a full blown recovered addict, a weekend party guy can take the same dose of shite he got last week only this time its 15x stronger because its lAced with fentanyl and thats the ball game.
And alpha bay is fricking huge. Those people would have to get their shite somewhere if not there.

So you're saying if the small % of people who cop from the deep web had to buy it on the street, there would be twice as many ODs?
Posted on 12/10/16 at 1:08 am to GreatLakesTiger24
Does this look like a small number of people to you lol
LINK
there are probably about 50 marketplaces. this isn't even the biggest.
yeah that's ab out the gist of what i'm saying. it's a safer way to buy. someone figured out you can lace Heroin with Fentanyl and make it stronger / more potent and it's killing people.

Just lost a fairly good friend I knew back in high school to a heroin overdose.
Last time I heard from him he was working under an optometrist and applying to optometry school.
It floored me when I heard the news
DON'T frick AROUND W/ HEROIN

I mean i don't think anyone sets out to frick around with heroin. Usually it starts with pills one way or the other. Pills are expensive. I knew a girl that had to take 20 10mg hydros a day or else she'd get sick. street price that's 10 a pill that's 200 dollars a day that's expensive. herion is easier to find, you don't have to deal with doctors or scripts and it's cheaper.
Or the person who just can't afford the medication that they have to take anymore. Or the person who had god's honest back pain but is now hooked, because the compaines told everyone that the pills weren't addictive or habit forming and that it's okay to pop a hydro if you have lower back pain.
John Oliver did a piece on this a few weeks back that was spot on. Pill companies went unchecked for way too long and now chickens are coming home to roost.

With opiates at large, for starters, doctors need to be held accountable more than they currently are in prescribing it. Heroin is just a part of the opiate addiction, but the cause is much larger than drug dealers. The average Americans addiction to prescription is the main cause of the opiate epidemic, not the fact that heroin is easy to find. The average guy isn't going to go out and shoot up heroin. It's the people in a world of shite that do that. And also, we need to stop throwing every single person carrying some drugs straight into the joint. So some guy is found with half an ounce of heroin, and they throw him in the slammer for 2 years. He's going to come out way more fricked than he did going into it. Instead invest in rehab for these people instead of prison. It's absolutely insane to me that we don't do this.
I find it interesting that the people who make the most sense in threads get more than their share of downvotes without a single reply to justify their disagreement. This was a good post that should at least spark further discussion.
There are people in this thread that I almost wish addiction on but I just don't hate anyone that much no matter how myopic, naïve, and insensitive they are.

I think we all expect insensitive but there are threads where people are discussing a topic where it's inappropriate no matter the place. Assholes can't help themselves I guess so I say again, there are people in this thread that I almost wish addiction on just so they can stop foaming stupid...

The article is astounding. It said that there were over 52,000 OD deaths, so there are other categories not listed.
Heroin - 12989
Synthetic opioids - 9580
prescription pain pills - 17536
Total = 40,105
The prescription pain pill death category is particularly disturbing to me, as a lot of these folk apparently did not start out intending to do anything illegal but were merely taking doctor prescribed medicine.
How do they become hooked on these opiods? I have never taken anything stronger than codeine or hydrocodone.....and neither of these seemed remotely addictive to me.
On a side note.....doesn't the conspiracy theorist in you become alerted when you see almost all of the major killers in the US suddenly reverse course and go up during one year? I mean, what causes that?

Doctors are among the worst culprits of being "drug dealers". It's staggering how many lazy doctors there are out there that see a patient for five minutes, hear what they have to say, and immediately pull out the pen and paper (or now they have to call it in). Still, I agree with you.
And the thing with opiate addicts, they are always "in pain" with a certain body part. I know guys who are in way better shape than me, 20 years younger than me - and still have the aches and body pains of a 70 year old man. Just so they can run to the doctor and talk about it to get their dope. Legally.

I'm guessing you're alluding to alcoholics. And you're wrong. Yeah, alcohol is legal. But drunk driving is not. And in my book, that's worse. Because then you put me and my family at risk just driving on the road while you're driving completely blackout drunk.

I have been on this planet a long time and have seen a lot of doctors during that time and have yet to see one that fits the categorization as of lazy.

So, what you are saying is that the reality of the world should be measured by a filter based upon your scale? The world would be frightening indeed if it were so.

Those are both on the weaker end but your tolerance will build insanely quick to those too.
It's the roxxy and OxyContin that are what most people are addicted too. Seen to roommates go down that raddit hole and it's brutal.

My guess would be "pot stoners"
