Absolutely no reason in the world to shoot an elephant.

There have been several listed in this thread, but they are ignored

Personally, I'd rather hunt the poachers than the elephants.

Your argument was it’s immoral to kill elephants but not chickens because of the numbers of chickens. Why do the morals not apply to humans as well?

I was having problems with the video on the site, here it is on youtube.

LINK

Stupid fricking morons. I wish one of the elephants would have gotten one them.

A herd of elephants (which appeared to include a family) just doing what elephants do and these jackasses, get out, point a gun at them and then pull the trigger... as if that is some type of accomplishment.

but the hunters in the video are the psychopaths

the hunt was not illegal, immoral or unethical.

So, have any of the hand-wringers in this thread provided a response to the simple and obvious observation that there clearly IS sport in this as proven by a near-fatal charge?

I was also surprised to learn of the level of soy that the OT was ingesting as I read this thread

I'm curious how many of them would be willing to go on a "boring" and "easy" elephant hunt after seeing this video.

1) I didn't make any arguments about morality
2) The "numbers" argument was introduced because it was relevant to one of the species which is threatened, whereas it is not relevant in a chickens vs. humans discussion
3) It's kind of illegal to kill humans

But aside from that you're totally right.

The elephants never really got close to them. And if foolishly putting yourself in a situation where you may receive bodily harm because of actions you take willingly, well, I guess we need to expand our understanding of what sport/sporting is.

You were answering a question that asked why it’s immoral to kill elephants but not chickens, and you used population size in your argument

quote:

Threatened, which is an upgrade from endangered and has happened since legal hunting of elephants began

quote:

It's kind of illegal to kill humans

Aren’t the laws of most places based on morals?

Guess what’s legal in some African countries?

ITT: Stupid people don't understand that animals need to be culled for herd health, the government involved makes a shite ton of money off the hunt for conservation and anti-poaching efforts, and the elephant needs to be shot because the meat goes to hungry locals and it needs to be kept safe for them to eat.

Did you? The elephants didn't get within 50 yards of those "hunters".
