I can definitely tell the difference between the blue in the Cubs logo and the purple in LSU's logo, but the color in the Southwest logo is purple to my eyes.

The furthest I've seen from blue I would consider to be periwinkle, which is still a shade of blue.

It's blue. It only looks "purple" because that's probably an older plane. The color faded a bit it appears.
