Whatever you do, don't name him after South La food a la Boudin, Gumbo, File, etc. That shite is played out and unoriginal.
My family has always named dogs after favorite authors. Probably b/c my grandmother had a phd in English literature and my mom continued the tradition. Salinger, Fitzgerald, Melville, Faulkner, Percy, and Hemingway have all been names of our family dogs
