I agree it should get people’s attention. But the width of the cone is not set by the NHC on a storm to storm basis.
The width of the cone at day 4 is the same for all storms. Not sure if they adjust every season, but the cone is based on past forecast skill not storm specific track uncertainties.

They do. How much it changes is determined by their overall accuracy report that is done after every season.

I was down a good bit the last two months. Bought a home behind the clam factory before it hit the market. We were going to renovate it and then sell but someone wanted it as is and offered too much for me to pass up. The market is stll stupid down here.

Yea , just what I call it. I have a small place on Cortez Rd rented where I run my business. Its a old place but fortunately upstairs. I live down south from here but this business is closer to the coast.
If you are talking about the clam factory in Cortez, that is right down the street from me. Hell, even closer to the coast. Heading down there to Starfish for lunch tomorrow
